Additional Information: In the present study nanoparticles were chosen for the detection of methyl parathion. The present work is only a preliminary work done for the development of a reflectometer based immunosensor. These preliminary studies are very important for an immunosensor development as all the parameters were carefully optimized for further studies. It was concluded that nanoparticles can be effectively used for detection of methyl parathion and other environmental pollutants. The developed method is easy to operate and more effective in comparison to other conventional methods like gas chromatography, HPLC already in use. According to the previous researches already done in the area we found that although nanoparticles are in use for the detection of environmental pollutants the methods developed here is different and more effective. Normally IgG has been used for the detection of several toxins and pesticides, but in present work we have reported the new and sensitive method with new generation antibodies i.e. IgY which are showing promising, results and are more specific.
