Abstract

Developments in active packaging of fresh produce are reviewed, in sections which cover: packaging of fresh produce; modified atmosphere packaging (MAP); MAP technologies; and some technological innovations (permeability regulation via thermally sensitive packaging materials, oxygen scavenging; ethylene scavengers, CO2 scavengers and emitters, humidity regulators, antimicrobial packaging).
