Abstract

Tbe effect of various oils under tbe varied Iigbt conditions on tbe residual toxicity of pyretbrins was studied using Tribolium castaneum. Oils of coconut, groundnut, castor, mustard and neem were effective upto 49 days under partial darkness. Pyretbrins and sesame oil under complete darkness retained the residual toxicity upto 6 months. The toxicity of llyretbrins in tbe presence of oils was thus observed to be improved by partial darkness and much more by complete darkness.
