Abstract

This review discusses growth abnormalities and diseases of the fruit bodies, as well as substrate contents that affect the quality (including protein content and processing quality) and yield of fruit bodies. The means and methods to overcome these problems during culturing of Pleurotus on a commercial scale are described. Effects of changes in nutrients of growth substrate on quality of fruit bodies are also considered.
